The Secret of Our Homemade Orange Jam
Discover the traditional recipe for homemade orange jam, a must-have for a gourmet breakfast.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of cleaned oranges
- 500 g of sugar
- 1 lemon
- 1 packet of pectin
Preparation:
- Preparing the oranges: Pierce the skin of the oranges and place them in a container of water with a lid. Change the water every day for 3 days.
- Cutting and macerating: Cut the oranges into thin slices (removing the ends), then place them in a saucepan with sugar, pectin, and lemon juice. Let it macerate in the fridge for 4 hours.
- Cooking: Bring to a boil, then stop the cooking. Let it cool before proceeding with a second cooking for 5 minutes at a boil.
- Jarring: Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, seal, and let cool.
